I love photography, all of it, and I'm trying to get decent at all of it.
One of my goals is to get an amazing shot of the Milky Way.
I love the stars and the night sky.
Over the course of living here I've developed a great appreciation for Antelope Island on the Great Salt Lake.
Most of that appreciation has come from camping out there and getting to really explore the island.
It offers some amazing things.
One is getting just far enough away to capture a glimpse of the milky way.
Still not the shot that I want but we are getting closer.
(I need to get farther away from city lights)
And no, that's not a shooting star...just a plane. The flight path is right there.
Antelope Island also offers some of the most amazing sunsets I have ever seen.
This is out at the marina one night with a mostly clear sky.
This was the following night as a storm was trying to come in...
and yes, the skies really do turn a beautiful magenta as well as the sun. Seriously, I'm not kidding about some of the most amazing sunsets I've ever seen...and we've seen some where the whole sky turns that beautiful magenta when the clouds/sun/conditions are all just right.
Go out sometime, you have a good chance of getting a gorgeous sunset about every night.
My dear husband loves to fly RC planes. He has a night flyer with lights. Out there was perfect and he had the perfect open space to fly it around and allow me to capture the lights/flight path with some long exposure photography. (I LOVE long exposure!) He has plans for a bigger plane with lights for the next time.
(I had a friend mention once that I needed to post more pictures. I don't have photo shoots as often as I want right now but I'm always snapping pictures. I just thought I would share some of those.)
